2019 Sparkling Pét-Nat Rosé
This 2019 Sprarkling Pét-Nat Rosé, composed 68% Zinfandel and 32% Sangiovese, is sourced from Komrosky Vineyard in the Santa Clara Valley. Recently converted to all organic farming practices, we are extremely excited to be making the wine from these 35 year old vines. This vineyard is at the base of the Southern Santa Cruz Mountains just east of the San Andrea Fault. Due to high seismic activity, the top soils are thin and tumultuous with a melange of many materials including: Sandstone, siltstone, chert, greenstone, greywacke, limestone and serpentinite.
This wine was vinified naturally, without any added SO2. Instead we rely on the carbon dioxide in the wine to preserve the freshness. On the nose there are aromas of watermelon, strawberry guava, and lemon rind. The palate presents a softness in the fruit that is framed by a mouth puckering acidity. Drink now and enjoy!
