SOLD OUT This Santa Cruz Mountain Wente Clone Chardonnay is a blend from Rene's Vineyard & Theeuwes Vineyard in Los Altos Hills. These neighboring vineyards overlook the southern tip of the San Fransisco Bay and due to the prevailing northwest winds, they experience cool temperatures. Expressive of the cool climate and decomposed Franciscan soils, this wine presents flavors of Japanese pear and crisp green apple with rich minerality and a vibrant, citrus finish. Vinification: whole cluster pressed, naturally fermented in neutral french oak barrels. 12.9% ABV Production: 3 barrels, 75 cases |
2016 Rene's Vineyard Red Blend (Merlot & Cabernet Franc) // Santa Cruz Mountains
SOLD OUT Planted in 1991, these old vines grow in Franciscan Complex soils including schist, sandstone and basalt. This steep vineyard lies on the midslope of the Los Altos Hills and thus experiences vast diurnal shifts and morning fog. The soil makes for an intense and vibrant wine while the cool, bay climate contributes to the wine's delicacy. Flavors of fresh, black cherries, anise and clove. Vinification: 27% Cabernet Franc & 73% Merlot this wine macerated on whole cluster Cabernet Franc and whole berry Merlot. The fermentor was blanketed with CO2 to bring out brightness in fruit and delicate nuances. Naturally Fermented and aged in neutral oak casks. 13.5% ABV Production: 3 barrels, 70 cases |

2017 Pét-Nat Rosé of Carignan // Santa Clara Valley
SOLD OUT This dry vin gris dances on your pallet with delicate bubbles. The palate presents a beautiful concentration of strawberry and salted watermelon flavors. Vinification: Naturally fermented, no additions whatsoever, bottled at 15 g/l of sugar. Fermentation is finished in bottle, hand riddled and disgorged after 3 months. 12.5% ABV |

Fertile, alluvium soils give an intensity to this wine coupled with coarse tannins and dark blackberry fruit. Persistent northwest winds whip through the Salinas Valley, giving the fruit a hardiness and brightness in character. The wine shows the windiness and the neighboring chaparral with cured meat flavors. The cool site presents aromatics of black pepper and violet flowers.
Vinification: Natural Co-fermentation with 6% Riesling, aged in neutral oak casks, 13.6% ABV

Planted in 1967 on their own roots, these old Wente Clone vines express the minerality of the decomposed Monterey sandstone and schist soils. Coastal winds and northwestern exposures promote cool temperatures and allow for slow ripening while maintain freshness and crisp acidity. The wine exhibits flavors of green apple and fresh yellow peaches while the finish is bright and intense.
Vinification: Whole cluster pressed, naturally fermented in neutral oak casks. Aged in French oak for 20 days and aged on fine lees for 9 months. 13% ABV
